I have seen reviews on these products. Evapo-rust made sense to me. You have to be able to immerse it to get the greatest effect. That is why I bought 5 gal. It did not disappoint. Let it sit immersed overnight, cleaned it off. Wire brushed the remaining pits, and redipped it for another 24 hours. Slick, clean, non-toxic. Worked great.
Ordered the 5 gallon pail to remove rust on an old vice that had been left outside for years. Using an ~20" piece of bailing wire I lowered into the pail and let sit, checking every 6 hours or so. Ended up leaving over night for a 30 hr. soak and it cleaned every bit of the rust from the vice. Have also since used it for rusty auto parts with the same fantastic result. This stuff works as advertised.
Super easy to use, can literally walk away from project with no fear of unintended outcome, no need for neutralizers rinse with water & air dry, environmentally friendly.
Works better than expected. Cost is relative.to the products it is used on. It does work great. Was ready to retire some old tools. they cleaned up great.
An acid bath is something else. But as a ready-made rust busting solution in a jug, this is the best. Yes it does require a cleaning afterward. So what... When you wax the car, you gotta wash it first, then buff it off after. So quit yer wining! It's the best product out there - if you can submerge the item in it. Beyond that I have zero history.
Purchased this after watching the results on several U Tube channels. Easy, safe, REUSABLE! Knock off the loose stuff, clean of the grime and grease and simply surmise for 24 hrs
These pliers have been sitting in a shed for nearly 20 years. They we seized close, dropped then in enough Evapo-Rust to cover them over night. The cleaned pliers feel very silky and are no longer seized.
Removes rust better than anything on the market and contains no harmful chemicals. Works better than other rust removers, heat treatment and electrolysis. The only downside is the price. This stuff could easily be sold for $50 per 5 gallon bucket. Considering the cost of the ingredients, the profit margins are extremely high...but that is my one and only complaint.
