I’m a self taught part time home mechanic and didn’t even know these existed until my brother had one. He told me the state police all have one in their cars. I looked at it and said there is no way this little box is going to jump start my completely dead battery. I usually can’t even get jumper cables to start a stone dead battery. So I gave it the test. My corvette was stone dead. I need an alternator. I charged it to the green lights night before….Went out and hooked it to my stone dead battery. The interior light or ignition lights wouldn’t even come on before being so dead. Hooked this up and lights came on and it started first try. I was shocked. This is a literal life saver. Not only can you just carry this in your car for easy use, but it saves you time and money having to call AAA or someone else for a jump. Also you don’t have to put your life in danger asking a stranger or some weirdo approaching you asking if you need help. 100% highly recommend.
Well... wish I would addend this in a couple weeks as...I used it as a battery bank twice after recharge and it was only capable of charging my phone once maybe one and a half. But!! I was using my truck battery a bit for charging purposes and it would become dead. It's a 5.8 L f150 and a couple times it took a jeep jump 5 minutes or at minimal a slow grind and maybe it would start first time. But with the gb40 or whatever it is... started immediately like it was a super charged new battery. Was impressive. And when I had a new charge on the gb40? After the jump it still indicated a full charge. Jist wasn't a good battery bank for re charging phone. Wish I could say how many jumps I could get on 1 charge... intuitively I'd say 10 to 20 which is amazing fir me to say. Anyways...as a backup jump... don't be skeptical... it was powerful. Even amazed my 81 year old friend that was a mechanic for 45 years.
Call me old fashioned but I cant see how any battery of this size can pack enough power to jump start a dead battery. I have a Corvette that I had not driven in a while and the battery was drained. I thought I would give it a try and keep it around for my boat to have in emergency situations and after a few months in storage. Needless to say, it did not get the car started so I borrowed my neighbors old fashioned plug in style and after 30 minutes, vroomm. Maybe I will buy a bigger one?
I was disappointed regarding the following: The charging cord is a USB-C on both ends. I have a 2021 vehicle and there is no "C" charging port, making it impossible to charge the device in the house or the car, without purchasing a block adapter for "C" USBs and/or a power cord with USB-A on one end and "C" on the other, for the car. As an alternative, a car charger (cigarette lighter) on one end would have been nice.
I would have liked that an adapter to recharge the item on the household current. Why have a cigarette adapter? The item is for jumping your car battery.
Phat guy in a little coat, got mo head than it got body. What I really mean is, it packs a punch for such a small product. A must have just in case!
Noco is a one of a kind company! They take pride in the products the produce. Not only does it outperform any other portable jump boxes but it’s also feels and looks like quality! Me personally I like their design it’s rugged and means business. This little guy packs a punch!
