This fan is very well made. Easy to assemble and looks awesome. We purchased it for our outdoor cabana and it really does a great job keeping the air moving. The blades are a synthetic material but look like real wood. We expect them to keep looking great for years and not sag like wood blades do out in the elements.
I really wish this fan had a remote. The switch is in the house so an outdoor fan should absolutely have a remote. I have 3 68" Altura fans in my house and always recommend it for friends and relatives. They all have remotes. I would recommend this fan if it had a remote and it would be a good value if it had a remote. Instead of including a fan wall switch, (I couldn't use), give me a remote!!
First, let me mention that I have two other fans in this style, 48in & 68in, so I ordered the 60in without hesitation. However, once we received it, we discovered the blades were plastic, not wood, like the ones we already have. We reached out to the manufacturer and they told us the plastic blades are standard with the 60in. Although it is marketed as indoor/outdoor, this fan is better suited as an outdoor fan, unless you don’t mind the plastic blades.
It runs very quiet and looks to be sturdy for outside. The way the blades are angled gives a maximum breeze. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that it looks very fake and plasticky, but it works well
Read several comments complaining about the plastic blades. We bought this fan because of the outdoor rating, already have three other indoor Altura fans with wood blades. The curved design of the blades move a lot mor air than the flat-blade fan we originally had out on over covered deck. Not a huge fan of the grey control switch, might look for a remote that will work with this fan. Only complaints(s) - wish they made this outdoor fan in 68” or larger, and the wires were longer to accommodate a longer down rod, 54” wires only work up to a 48” downrod.
