This connector is rated 20A max so it is good for most automotive applications/appliances. I used it to connect 150W Led Light bar (for off-road lighting). The connector is "weather-proof" what means it can be placed outside of the vehicle cabin (engine compartment, under the body etc.) where is is exposed to harsh environment (mud, water, show, even salt). For crimping it is helpful to have specialized crimping tool but it is not absolutely needed . Standard automotive crimping tool will work OK. If you are handy with pliers they will work too. No need to go crazy for one time job. Actually I found the design of these connectors quite clever. Very easy to crimp wire and put all together. At the same time the design is "bulletprooff" so if is almost impossible to make it wrong. As for assembly instruction I found pdf document on Delphi website (Weather_Pack pdf ) very informative. Or just look for Weather_Pack on google - they will show how the assembled connector looks like, show which piece goes where including the wire seal orientation. The bottom line, I would recommend this product for the design quality and value. Yes, it is a bit more expensive that China made "noname" connectors, but if you want to run more than 5 Amps through it, I would choose Delphi over noname.
