It has a longer stator than stock. The two long bolts that hold the motor together are not made to mount the chrome cover adapter. Therefore, you cannot use the stock long bolts nor can you mount the chrome cover. This makes no difference in the operation of the motor. So far, the starter is working grreat. I really don't care about the chrome cover. Less to polish
