The sensor end of the wire must be out of any incoming air... the faster you go the lower the temperature reading. Then the temperature becomes useless. I tried putting foam insulation around the sensor but it didn't make much of a difference. I'm leaving it on until I can figure out a way to get a better and more stable reading.
It worked the first time on a race lawn mower, got it up to about 330 deg and when it cooled it went back to normal air temp. The next time it was used it went to 389 deg and stayed up there for about 4 days with the motor cooled off. Worked ok this past weekend. I'm afraid to really on it. Can't expect much, its from China
It worked for a week normally and than started to fail. Within a three day it stopped showing temperature, it just shows two horizontal lines just like when the sensor is not plugged in. But it is, everything is connected tightly. I can still check the time but that is not why I bought it.
This works great on my air cooled 250r. I just put the sender under a head bolt. Should have bought the 10mm one but it still works. There is no way to turn it off and I have yet to replace a battery.
Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with product apart from... Cable is far too short for anything.. Resulting into having to buy an extension cable at extra cost.. what a rip-off. Would not recommend this product to any of my scootering friends. And there is over 8 million scooterists in England.
Great addition to a tachometer if you didn't buy an all in one the first time. Used for paramotor, have it and a tach tied to the throttle cable so I can watch temperatures and revs when flying along.
