Vintage recordings of the Nat Wills classics on CD
If you are into some of those early comedic recordings, you will certainly enjoy this of the era humor. At;east, you can hear the songs and comedy on a regular cd player with minimal scratching. Not for everyone, since the cointent is dated but it is great to have these recortding saved for the history of entertainers just for prosperity. Probably not the bes gift for your nephew or passerby poerson on the street but if someone has interest in nostalgic entertainment, this CD is certainly worth a listen. The humor is dated, talks of Model T's automobiles, Talks of negros in a cou[le of skits stereotyped in a fun but not exactly fair way though in the times of newly freed slaves...the education for the black man was limited and this is the reality of the times. We come a long way and thank goodness. What is amazing is that all the humor on this disc is virtuous talking of dear mother and daily life in a light hearted way, Not a cuss word to be heard yet the more you listen, you realize the humor is quite good...an aquired taste from our modern entertainment direction yet it is worth a listen as I said, It's like a history lesson through entertainment of 100 years ago. Imagine, no radio, no TV,....electricity just coming into play. If you had an auto, you were something rare and special. If you had a driving license, it was necessary that you could show proficiency in repairing and maintaining your own vehicle as well as ability to drive it. Imagine a woman with a license to drive...in a dress and bonnet, cranking her automobile and understanding its repair!! Well, this is a bit of a sidetrack in regards to this CD but as I said, the nostalgia of history is what makes this CD worthy so if you have interest in learning along with hearing a bit of light hearted dated comedy, I think you will enjoy this product.
