Brand new Dynatek DS3-2 ignition system. Was purchased with intent of using for different application than was designed for. Found out it wouldn't be able to be used and made to work. New, never installed, but the user instructions sheet was missing when purchased. It's for Suzuki 4 cylinder motorcycles, I believe late 70's to early 80's. Please check manufacturer website for applications/description.
This saved the day. Ignitor went out it was $400 new didn't trust used parts. Bought this for 1980 gs550. It only has one timing mark points ignition (1979 and earlyer) has two marks. Set the timing on one trigger and used a degree wheel to set the other one 180 degrees out. It comes close in the package it was only off by three degrees. Bike fired on the first try and runs great. Have only put 1000 miles on it with no problems.
Awesome item! Perfect fit, clear instructions, easy to install. Its a lot easier setting up the timing with these than with points too. One note, ebay garage says this part does NOT fit my 79 GS750 N variant even though it fits E and L, but it does - engines are the same across all variants.
Very good product have used one before good quality part. Note: 1980 Later model GS with factory electronic pickup need to use a early 77-79 GS rotor button.
Great upgrade for your classic, easy install and set up
Absolutely one of the easiest upgrades to electronic ignition I've ever used. Good instructions, easy to install, great performance upgrade. Why fool around with "points" on a classic (old) bike? Isn't it all about being able to just ride and enjoy a classic without having to "tinker" with multiple sets of points?
The install didn’t go as expected. Had to have parts machined for proper fit.
Although this product will all but eliminate ignition points issues for the life of the bike, it was a poor fit to the bike it was installed. According to the product description, it would fit my 1979 Suzuki GS550L. My mechanic had to have the shaft and mounting bolt machined, to get this to fit properly, at a added cost to me. After this complicated install, it did work as it should.
I have used these on my Cb750s for years. Now I have used the one for the GS750. They always work well and provide trouble free service. I suggest using their mini coils along with their ignitions, they really help with performance. make sure to run a fuse on the power wire, to prevent accidental damage to the ignition unit.
Easy install and major benefit over the stock signal generator/cdi box setup. However when installing on my 1983 Suzuki GS1100 which had a stock electronic ignition, the kit was lacking the bolt to secure the rotor/spark advancer and the washer...Needed the spark advancer from a previous point operated GS which I purchased but didnt realize it needed that bolt.. Should be noted by the manufactor Dynatek
Excellent product, the motorcycle runs like new, the sound is better, the ignition and combustion is way better, it has improved the perfonrmance of the motorcycle, it comes with a washer but I don´t use it ´cause it causes problems ´cause it´s very thick.
Works fine. Mounting plate measurement at the larger tolerance. Can not be turned by hand to adjust timing since it seats very tide into the housing. Cable should be a foot longer.
